Orterra worked closely with LORDS to create a loose parts play area for their junior school. The school was already engaging in loose parts play and wanted a designated area. As part of the storage strategy a shipping container was required to have easy access for easy set up and pack up.
The design of the space was to provide areas for students to set up loose parts play structures and games. The space while creating different zones and surrounded by planting is deliberalty designed without equipment for students to be able to manipulate the space themselves with the loose parts.
On a recent visit to see the progress, students had created multiple piles of stacked stones throughout the space, and stone art in the sand. We can’t wait to see how this space changes over time and the creations that the students come up with!
