This client has owned this house since before they had children. The garden was not working for this family anymore. The clients wanted a garden transformation to suit their current lifestyle. The key was to focus on the areas causing them the most issues. These were updating their pool and outdoor dining area, creating more usable spaces while providing an inviting entry to the home. Dividing the garden into three main areas of focus allowed us to ensure we dealt with the client’s main issues.
The Entertaining Space
This area transformed into an inviting dining and lounge space. The new space allows for the whole family to get outside, enjoy the outdoors and dine or relax. This space transforms at night with soft festoon lighting.
The Pool
Now features a relaxing day bed and built-in seating. The feature awning provides sun protection while watching the kids in the pool. This space is perfect for the family to spend their time relaxing around the pool on a beautiful Brisbane summer day. New sandstone stairs connect the entertaining space and the pool allowing for ease of use the family never previously had.
The Front Garden
This final area in the renovation enhanced the property and transformed the front garden into an inviting and welcoming space. Earthworks and the extension of retaining walls allowed the previously obvious rubbish bins to be stored discretely out of the view of the street. A new set of stairs finished the structural work. The garden was finished off with a beautiful array of red and white flowers to meet the brief. We used a stunning white Crepe Myrtle a feature tree, and False Frangipani, Bird of Paradise, Heliconia, and a mix of smaller shrubs to create a beautiful and lush entrance to the property.
