Orterra was asked to partner with HIG to provide the detailed design for an important connection as part of Ipswich City Council’s bikeway upgrades across the city. This link along Queens Park traversed through some of the most well-known sections of the park and adjacent to heritage-listed trees and structures.
Orterra with HIG was tasked with creating a dedicated bikeway along with vehicular shared zones while retaining and protecting all trees on site. The bikeway passed one of the key entrances to the city and therefore the signage, planting, and distinctive features were required to be recreated to ensure the new bikeway looked like it had always been there.
